Bernard S. Buechler, 89 of Ferdinand passed away on Tuesday, June 4th surrounded by his family. Bernard was born July 16, 1929 in Mariah Hill to Paul and Minnie (Schum) Buechler. He married Bernice Hartung on November 14, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale. Bernard was a lifelong farmer. He was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed being with family and friends. Bernard was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Bernard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice Buechler of Ferdinand; two sons, Larry (Kim) Buechler and Danny (Brenda) Buechler of all of Ferdinand; three daughters, Georgia (Alan) Rahman, Paula (Rick) Demuth and Gloria (Edwin) Rahman all of Ferdinand; one sister, Henrietta Buechler of Jasper; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bernard was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Buechler and sisters, Alma Kaelin, Marcella Schipp and Emma Wilmes and a granddaughter, Kelley Buechler. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 8th at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
