Carol Jean Wilgus, 61 of Ferdinand passed away Thursday September 12th at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. Carol was born March 5, 1958 in Jasper to Paul E. & Clara (Lamar) Wilgus. Carol was a 1976 graduate of Forest Park High School. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in paralegal services from Kaplan University (magna cum laude). She enjoyed working Sudoku puzzles, coloring and studying the Bible. Surviving are her mother, Clara Wilgus of Ferdinand, Five sisters, Patti (Maarten) Bos of Sarasota, FL., Mona (Kenny) Elder of Tell City, Terry Brinker of Evansville, Sandy (Tony) Waninger of Fulda, and Marci (Michael) Hansen of Ferdinand. Two brothers, Rick (Tonya) Wilgus of Evansville and Ron (Shelly) Wilgus of Schnellville. Her caregivers, Denise Schnell of Jasper, Ruth Sickbert and Angie Rahman both of Ferdinand. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Wilgus, grandparents, Chester & Agnes (Hagedorn) Wilgus and Irwin & Gertrude (Bergman) Lamar, a brother-in-law, Bill Brinker and a great-nephew. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday September 17th in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Burial will be in St. Ferdinand Church cemetery at a later date.
