Donald "Donny" Lee Hoffman, 74, of Ferdinand passed away Thursday, April 19th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville. He was born January 12, 1944 in Ferdinand to Fred A. and Marceda (Johanneman) Hoffman. Donny was a carpenter/home builder. Donny was very proud to build parade floats for Duckville. He also was involved in making Duckville turtle soup. Donny enjoyed spending time on his farm. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Donny served in the National Guard. He is survived by two sons, Scott (Sara) Hoffman and Kevin (Karen) Hoffman all of Ferdinand; two daughters, Cindy (Tim) Eckstein of Jasper and Kym (Darrin) Williams of Georgetown; three brothers, Kenneth (Rita) Hoffman of Jasper, David (Margie) Hoffman of Ferdinand and Raymond (Bonnie) Hoffman of St. Anthony; one sister, Patricia (Bob) Schuetter of Huntingburg; nine grandchildren, Shanna, Derek, Dana, Kayla and Zack Hoffman, Kelsey and Seth Williams, Ryan and Tyler Eckstein. Donny was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Eugene Hoffman. Funeral services will be Monday, April 23rd at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and Monday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home.
