Geneva C. Gelarden, 88 of Dale passed away Monday November 2nd in Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand. She was born November 24, 1926 in St. Marks (Perry County) to Alfred L. & Anna C. (Litkenhus) Dupont. She married Earl N. Gelarden on July 1, 1950 in New Boston, Indiana. Surviving are her husband, Earl N. Gelarden, four sons, Michael W. Gelarden and wife Pearl of Fulda, Mark V. Gelarden and wife Dorothy Ann, Daniel J. Gelarden, and James P. Gelarden and wife Jenny all of Evanston. Nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One sister, Sister Mary Dupont of Evansville, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Dupont-Wright of Owensboro, KY. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Madonna Kay Gelarden and a brother, Earl Dupont. Geneva was a member of St. Nicholas Parish in Santa Claus. She was a homemaker and a former secretary at Servel Corporation in Evansville. She enjoyed winters in Florida, playing dominos and Euchre, bowling and enjoyed being with her family. Funeral services 10:00 AM CST Thursday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Santa Claus, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM CST Wednesday & 8 to 9:30 AM CST Thursday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
