Henry Haake

Henry Haake, 63, of Ferdinand passed away Saturday July 25th at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Henry was born in Huntingburg on March 7, 1963 to J. Roy and Marcella (Schipp) Haake. He was united in marriage to Lisa Knies on April 19, 1986 in St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Henry was a graduate of Forest Park High School. He worked as a Safety Director for Jasper Engines, the Electric and Water Superintendent for the town of Ferdinand, and as a journeyman lineman for the City of Jasper. Throughout his years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, was a ski instructor, and a private pilot. His creative mind enjoyed drawing, inventing and solving problems. He could repair anything, and was an avid handyman to anyone in need. His love for his wife and children was evident through his years of hard work and dedication to them. He adored his two grandchildren and the time spent together.

Henry is survived by his wife Lisa Haake, three children, Athena (Neal) Goffinet of Littleton, CO., Austin Haake, and Aliya Haake both of St. Louis, MO. Two grandchildren, Margot and Leo Goffinet. Three brothers, Pat (Donna) Haake of Ferdinand, Max (Terri) Haake of Chandler, and John (Sheila) Haake of Ferdinand. Three sisters, Margaret (Tom) Lents of Dubois, Ruth (Pat) Lueken of Ferdinand, and Sara (Ron) Kunkel of Ferdinand, and several nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
