Irma E. Dilger, 99, of Ferdinand, died Monday, November 21st, at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born October 26, 1917 in Ferdinand to Henry & Clara (Bickwermert) Kerstiens. She married Theodore A. Dilger on August 30, 1938 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church, Ferdinand. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2003. Irma was a seamstress for several years and a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Ferdinand Parish, St. Anns Sodality, Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella, and Ferdinand Extension homemakers. She enjoyed quilting, she was an avid card player, and enjoyed being with family & friends. Surviving are one son, Albert (Patricia) Dilger of Ferdinand; five daughters, Marguerite (James) Hubers of Ferdinand, Donna (Ed) Meyer of Huntingburg, Lois (Wayne) Hobbs of Golden, CO., Louise (Tom) Brames of Saint Anthony, & Cathy (John) Mehne of Corpus Christie, TX.; twenty grandchildren, forty two great-grandchildren, & one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Olinger, a son-in-law, Sherman Jones, a great-grandchild, Abram Burger, one sister, Edna Kathery, and one brother, Cletus Kerstiens. Funeral services 10:00 AM Saturday November 26th in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM Friday & 7 to 9:30 AM Saturday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
