James L. Recker, 80, of Ferdinand, passed away, Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. James was born January 8, 1935 to Raymond and Victoria (Kluemper) Recker in Ireland, IN. James was a retired insurance agent. James was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana University Basketball. He loved playing cards. James is survived by two sons, Steve Recker of Jasper and Terry Recker of Evansville; three daughters, Maria Denning and husband Steve, Debbie Ramirez and husband Ron all of Ferdinand, Kelli Witsman and husband Brian of Lanesville; two sisters, Darlene Dilger and husband Jim of Ferdinand, Janice Gogel and husband Charlie of Jasper; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by a son, Rick Recker; sister, Marjorie Jahn; brother, Patrick Recker; sister in infancy, Susan Recker. Visitation will be Saturday, November 28th from 8-9:00 AM in St. Henry Catholic Church. Memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM with burial to follow in St. Ferdinand Church cemetery.
