Loren Ray Kaetzel, 81, of Santa Claus, passed away, June 11th at his home. Loren was born April 19, 1935 in Santa Claus to Amos and Lillian (Schaaf) Kaetzel. He married Shirlene Shewmaker in 1957 in Mackville, KY. She preceded him in death in 1992. Loren married Mary Ann Pund on May 28, 1994 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale. Loren was a crane operator with the Aluminum, Brick & Glass Workers Union. He worked at Alcoa for 27 years and Holiday World for 19 years. He was a member of Santa Claus United Methodist Church. Loren enjoyed riding his bike and scooter, washing cars, watching grandchildren play sports, mowing his lawn, watching Martins and spending time with family and friends. Loren is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Santa Claus; three sons, Ray (Denise) Kaetzel of Santa Claus, Alan (Wilma) Pund of Mariah Hill and Ron (Sheryl) Pund of Dale; three daughters, Lori (Tyler) Brubaker of Owensboro, Sheila (Phillip) Wahl of Mariah Hill and Cindy (Adie) Moorison of Dale; four brothers, Leo (Thelma) Kaetzel of Lenox, IA., Elmer Kaetzel of Hopkinsville, KY., Marvin (Connie) White of California and Glen (Kathryn) White of California; one sister, Jeanne (Art) Harris of Milton, FL.; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Loren was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirlene Kaetzel, and one brother, Clayton White. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM CDT in Santa Claus United Methodist Church, Santa Claus. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Santa Claus American Legion Post 242 conducting military graveside rights. Visitation will be at Santa Claus United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 2-8:00 PM CDT and Wednesday from 8:00 AM CDT until time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Santa Claus United Methodist Church, St. Francis of Assissi Parish or the American Cancer Society.
