Mary Ann Jochem, 80 of St. Henry passed away Tuesday July 21st in Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand. Mary Ann was born August 9, 1934 in Fulda, Indiana to August & Clara (Nielander) Boehm. She married Roman Jochem June 1, 1957 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Mary Ann was a member of St. Henry Parish, St. Henry Christian Mothers, St. Henry Catholic Knights Of America, Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary, and Ferdinand Home Extention Club. She was a retired Cafeteria worker at Ferdinand Elementary and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Corina Hildenbrand & Esther Harpenau, 4 brothers, Karl, Edward, Cletus & Sylvester Boehm, and one grandson in infancy. She enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening, word search puzzles, Embroidery, & Cross Stitch. She enjoyed her grandchildren & family. Survivors include her husband, Roman Jochem, 7 daughters, Norma Stetter and her husband Brian of Brookville, OH., Karen Vonderheide and husband Glen of St. Anthony, Charlotte Schnaus and husband Scott & Joyce Gehlhausen and husband Brian both of Ireland, Linda Lindauer and husband Kelvin of St. Meinrad, Diana Schlachter and husband Rob of Ferdinand, & Martha Hagedorn and husband Jason of Dale. Three sons, Michael Jochem and wife Lori of Ferdinand, Daniel Jochem and wife Jan of St. Anthony, Patrick Jochem and wife Glennda of Ferdinand. 28 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Claude Boehm and wife Marietta of Fulda and 1 sister, Marcella Lindauer of Jasper. Funeral services 10:00 am Saturday July 25th at St. Henry Catholic Church, burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM To 9:30 AM Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
