Michael J. Gramelspacher Jr, 78, of Fulda, passed away on November 21, 2025, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana. He was born on November 23, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, to Michael Sr. and Mildred (Baumgart) Gramelspacher. Michael married Janice Keller on August 15, 1970, in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Michael was a graduate of Jasper High School, class of 1964. He furthered his education at Indiana University, graduating in 1968 with a Master's Degree. He would go on to teach high school German. Michael was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Army. He had a passion for studying German ancestry, genealogy and wood working.
Michael leaves behind his beloved wife, Janice Gramelspacher of Fulda; his daughters, Anna Maria (David) Dodd of Madisonville, TN, and Katrina Ann (Chance Longo) Gramelspacher of Chattanooga, TN; his brothers, including David Gramelspacher of Jasper, Bob Gramelspacher of Troy, Don Gramelspacher of Jasper, Alan (Marcy) Gramelspacher of Jasper and Tim (Diane) Gramelspacher of Jasper. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Klem of Portersville, and his cherished grandchildren, Kelly Ann Dodd, Kyle Allen Dodd, James Joseph Longo, and Emily Ann Longo.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Michael J. Gramelspacher Sr., and his mother, Mildred Gramelspacher, as well as his son, Andreas Gramelspacher.
A visitation will be held on November 28, 2025, from 8 AM CT to 10:00 AM CT, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM CT, both at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda, Indiana. The burial service will take place immediately afterward in the church cemetery. St. Meinrad American Legion will provide graveside rights.
