Virgil Mark Goebel

Virgil "Mark" Goebel, 78, of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31st. Mark was born December 12th 1947, in Paris, IL, to Virgil and Virginia (Ware) Goebel. Mark is survived by his son Dorian Goebel of Petersburg IN, and daughter Marni (Justin) Vonderheide, along with his grandchildren who he adored Anstin and Amrin Vondehreide St.Anthony: his former wife Joan (Gariepy) Goebel of Petersburg IN, sister Diane Klueh of Kokomo, brother Danny Goebel of Vincennes IN, and nieces and nephews. 

Mark worked in Information Technology and was a self-proclaimed "computer geek". Mark was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Navy aboard the USS St. Paul. He loved motocross and grilling. Mark was a talented cook and loved entering BBQ contests. He loved music and was very talented. He wrote music and played many instruments, especially guitar, until his passing. Mark was also a member of the St. Anthony V.F.W.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and sister Camilla Fleck of Vincennes IN. There will be a Celebration of Life and a later date; no services have been announced. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand has been entrusted with final arrangements.
